The Sulphur Springs Municipal Airport is owned and operated by the City of  Sulphur Springs, Texas. Recent improvements to the airport include a new terminal building and a 100 LL self service fuel pump. The  City of Sulphur Springs City Manager, Marc Maxwell, and City  Financial Director Peter Karstens, along with the Airport Advisory Board have consistently shown support for the continued growth and improvement of the Airport.

Continuing to Grow

Three new hangar buildings were completed and occupied during 2003 and three hangar buildings were completed and occupied in 2004. In 2005, construction was started on two new private hangars, as well as a new hangar for American Legend Aircraft Company . A new concrete taxiway has been constructed that will allow at least 5 more private or corporate hangars to be built. AWOS has been installed and is now operational. In an attempt to make our airport a "Sport Pilot" destination, a 2300' X 120' North/South grass runway located on the west side of our main runway has been constructed.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Dewey and Pete Quatrop for their award for "Best Transport Warbird" at Airventure 2003 for the restoration of their Beechcraft C45.

A grand opening ceremony for the new terminal building was held on September 21, 2002 during the 7th Annual Fall Fly-In.

Courtesy transportation provided to and from the Sulphur Springs Airport for guests staying at the Days Inn - Sulphur Springs, Best Western Trail Dust Inn - Sulphur Springs, and the Comfort Suites - Sulphur Springs. Call the hotel from the airport and transportation will provided to the hotel and back to the airport.
